Buffalo Lake Camping Resort is located in the heart of Marquette County! Lake and trout streams abound and you will soon catch on to why we're called "Fisherman's Paradise". While you're here be sure to try canoeing on one of the many rivers and streams or biking down scenic roads to get a taste of the unspoiled beauty that surrounds you.
We are located on 2200-acre Buffalo Lake, the largest in the county and well known for its fine catches of northern pike, bass, crappie, bluegill and perch. A boat launch, four piers and fish cleaning house are also available for free for our guests.
There is a convenience store supplied with a little of everything that you may need while experiencing the peace and serenity that we have to offer you!
There are 110 spacious campsites, all with water & electricity. Some include sewer hook ups and cable TV. There are a mix of seasonal and overnight campsites in the park. A picnic table and fire ring are on every site. We have two bathroom and shower buildings, one with 24 hour self serve laundry. There is a heated swimming pool, arcade and TV lounge to keep everyone entertained during their stay. Our other features include a two-bedroom housekeeping cottage, a camping cabin, weekend activities, rowboat, canoe and kayak rentals, bait and tackle, covered pavilion, horseshoe pits, playground, basketball and volleyball. Pets are allowed on a leash.
Hwy 23 will be closed west of Montello, between Cty. M and 8th Drive, from May until November.
Alternate Route from I-39 Southbound: Exit onto Cty Rd J at Westfield (Exit 113). Head east into Harrisville. Turn Right onto Cty Rd B into Montello. Turn Left on Hwy 23 into town. Turn Right onto Cty Rd C for 3/4 miles. Turn Right into Buffalo Lake Camping Resort.
Alternate Route from I-39 Northbound: Take exit 108A-B to merge onto I-39 N toward US-51/Portage/Wausau. Exit onto Cty Rd D at Packwaukee (Exit 104). Turn Right into Packwaukee where Cty Rd D turns into Cty Rd C. Slow down at the city limits of Montello. Turn left into Buffalo Lake Camping Resort.
HOW TO FIND US
From Madison, WI: Take I-90/94 to Exit 108B (I-39). Take State Road 23 East 8 miles to County Hwy. C (Lake Ave). Turn right on County Rd. C (west) and travel 3/4 mile to entrance on right. From the East: Enter Montello on State Road 23. Continue on Hwy. 23 past waterfalls and stop light, through downtown, turn left on County Hwy. C (Lake Ave) west, at Fire Station, and travel 3/4 mile to entrance on right. From the West:Enter City of Montello on State Road 23. Once you pass a cemetary and County Courthouse on your left, turn right on County Rd. C (Lake Ave) west, before Fire Station, and travel 3/4 mile to entrance on right.
